The new pottery is not pushed in

The new pot is not pushed in, I sculpted figures and put them right on the outer surface, trying to create a balance between the sculpted and thrown.  I had created a sketch last night very fast and drew my inspiration from it, I like this, I would like to glaze it with a opaque color once it is bisque.

Ceramic Update

Woo hoo, yesterday was my first day in the studio in a while, and I got two of my pots out of the kiln, stained them with black, and now they are being bisqued again, I will glaze and fire them once more on Thursday.  A new work of art has emerged, it is another therianthrop diety which presides over two young figures, the figures are androgynous but could be interpreted as male and female.  Both are sprouting and becoming plant Daphnes, there is a desexualized sexual tension and the figures are sort of imprisoned in this garden by sharp branches and thorns.  It is a trinity piece, three figures, three crested birds.  The quetzal on the deity is a signature of sorts, a commentary on my trips to Guatemala.

Polymer Clay update

Polymer clay miniatures are back with a vengeance, I decided around the 23rd to make a figure a day until the new year and below are the ones that I made, they are a beautiful dozen.  All have been baked and glued into their very own little boxes for protection until they find their way into someone elses home.  

Below are two from this year, im already off to a great start, I think everyweek I should do seven, and do a weekly digest of figures every seven days.

is the place where some stuff that is not yet included here is posted, since right now is a time when Im applying to different graduate programs, the blog was being kept pretty strictly ceramic, that will change back soon but until it does facebook will have the polymer clay stuff that is going on, also after entering the grad program I will merge beautifulclayflowers.blogspot.com into this one as well.  So like the facebook page to show me you were there and enjoy the latest which is a figure a day until 2013!

I will be making a figure each day they are morphing back into affirmation figures and I cant wait because in 2013 they will again be affirmations.   What do I mean? You will see...
