Spiky Sharp Sculpted Ceramics

Here are some photos (above) of the very latest works of art to emerge glazed and finished.  I would love for the tall bird pottery and the orange drip spiky pot to get into shows somewhere in the city, they are really fantastic.  The sliced open pot found a home being the visual anchor for a ten gallon community aquarium.

Black on Red

Something new.  I wanted to do some line drawing and I always love the color combo of the natural red of the clay and the black silp.  In the  last photo you can see the others that are in the kiln right now, four large pots and two little sculptures, all are being primarily colored with slip and will simply (like the black and red above) be clear glazed.  I discovered that our clear gets frothy and milky at cone 06 (the manufactures suggested temp) but clear and very lovely at cone 04.
