Anaciportians
Let me tell you the story about four little people. The little people of Anaciport. In Anaciport freedom of expression, bright colors, and patterns are a way of life. Four adolescents in Anaciport were trying to discover who they were and they found themselves in different ways.
The first to uncover who they were was the blue nymph. The blue nymph found a magic silver gild and waited patiently for its chance to streak its body with the beautiful metal, the design was based on natural design. Images depicting bunches of leaves were hand painted onto the blue nymphs body, each leaf with two or three little dots inside, this was further drizzled with more silver for a nice outline of the entire piece.
When the blue nymphs friends in Anaciport saw the beautiful pattern they were all green with envy and went out to find their own patterns. Not surprisingly the Black nymph asked where Blue nymph had gotten their silver coloring and went to the gild herself to steal some of the seductive silver material. Being hand painted just like Blue, Black opted for more tribal symbols on her body and face, although she basically copied Blues idea, the end result was the product of her own vision and is completely different.
Red nymph, wanting to fit in with everyone else, then ran to the gild and got a medallion painted onto his chest, but he hated it and felt like being silver just wasn’t for him, it did not show up on his brightly colored red skin. So off Red nymph went to find his own coloration and he did, in GOLD, beautiful gold was painted right on top of the silver for a dramatic metallic effect and the spikes in the medallion were outlined in black to show contrast.
All three nymphs being hand painted reveled in their newfound beauty and splendor except wood nymph.
Wood nymph was a independent thinker in Anaciport, although most people were artistic in the land of Anaciport, few had a mind of their own. She looked at the bright and contrasting skin tones and silver-gold metallic finishes on the Blue, Black, and Red nymphs and knew it was not for her, so Wood Nymph ran into the forest to seek out something. While there she became inspired by the Islamic ceiling tiles in ancient Mosques and decided she wanted one painted on her chest.
She did get one painted, but it was just too bright and blue for her tastes, she was a woodland girl and wanted to represent where she came from. So Wood nymph went and asked the trees for help. The trees told Wood nymph to look around her, that the answers she was seeking were right in front of her. She looked around and only saw trees, young trees, old trees, dead trees, and she realized that the trees all showed growth. She was growing as a person and wanted this to be seen as well. Trees contain growth rings, one for each year of life, small, thin rings represent hard times, and fat, thick rings mean it was a good year with lots of rain and nutrients. So Wood nymph is covered with rings, rings beginning on various parts of her legs and knees and running into each other also growing around her Islamic tile chest and eventually covering her hands. Wood nymph was so delighted that she held her face in her hands and smiled.
When her friends saw her they were all happy and each nymph was satisfied to be an individual, yet at the same time a member of the wonderful land of Anaciport.
